Hello, all!

Patented guitar-nut (probably less than some of you), I know Vintaxe.com since a while now, and often used it as a trusted reference to confirm or double-check a spec detail. For my own culture, because details are important, but also for GuitarDir.com, the website I did set up about one year ago. Another crazy project, dedicated to referencing all guitars, with pics and specs. (I know...).

I saw this post on the Forum, where one member mentions GuitarDir and is urging people to enter specs and pics. Great call! Everyone is welcome, GuitarDir.com is not commercial and all and only about guitars. And I know that Vintaxe people are more than qualified to provide input... before some details are lost for ever. Please do not hesitate to visit us and register, and considere how Vintaxe and GuitarDir can complement eachother.

I'm happy to have registered with you, and I'll try to free up time in order to contribute here as well!

Greetings Dom and welcome to the Forum. I do hope you can find some time to join the Forum discussions.

I agree that GuitarDir.com and VintAxe.com compliment one another nicely and I look forward to seeing your database grow. One problem with relying on catalogs for information about guitar specifications is that the literature was produced by the company Public Relations people and the guitars were produced by the shop workers. I've seen many examples where the actual guitars produced didn't match what the PR people claimed they were producing. Having a database of actual guitar production will be a useful resource indeed. I wish you best of luck with your effort. sb
