Best way to clean and polish

Just got this '72 Sg standard that looks like it was left out in the barn for a few years. I can't do anything about the pitted metal, but would like to hear any suggestions about cleaning the dirt and and cloudiness off of the finish. Thanks...

I've had excellent results using Virtuso cleaner and polisher products. They get good reviews pretty much everywhere. Get a bottle of each. They're not real cheap, but not that expensive and they last a long time.
