kay / catalina branding question

Hello All-

I have a Kay K100 / Vanguard, but the name on the headstock is "Catalina".

I know Kay guitars were rebranded a million ways from Sunday, but I cant find anything on the internet about the Catalina brand name.

Anybody have any ideas?

Hi Tom.

According to Willie Moseley in his book Stellas & Stratocasters, Catalina was the house brand of Abercrombie & Fitch.

Thanks so much for the quick reply....I had no idea A&F were an "old" concern...had to hit up wikipedia....1892...wow.

Anyway, what a hoot - I have a Abercrombie & Fitch guitar.
