I need help locating my SG, it's a late 60's early 70’s SG Standard Maestro Vibrola Heritage Cherry, serial number is 604681. It was stolen from my house in Champaign IL sometime in Feb 2011. Our house is listed for sale, there had been two recent showings. I believe one those people is involved with it being stolen. The local sheriffs department is investigating but no luck yet. This was the only item that they took; they passed up my acoustics, pedals, recording equipment, TV’s money and everything else we own but my SG. I believe it’s in someone’s collection now.
It shows years of wear but plays great. The neck had been split on the back at the head, a repair was made but it is visible. The repair was made with plastic filler that has a butterscotch look to it. The rear cover plate has a hole on it large enough to install a ¼” phone jack. The original owner wired it up to run two amps and fried the wiring then traded it in on a new guitar.
My parents bought this guitar and a new walnut SG for my brother in 1970, I still have the original sales receipts. I am heart broken that it is gone. Any help would be great.
