the bridges are movable on these guitars so its easy to line them up properly. the one you saw on ebay looks like the spacing slots on the bridge were made a little too far apart, also a possible easy fix. the problem as you stated is the neck. and without trying it out, its a crap shoot. most sellers dont know how to "eye up" a neck. or if they do its a "healthy bow" ahem. BS. its bowed. i lucked out and mine is dead straight. my only suggestion is to ask the seller to put a straight edge on the frets and see if there is a gap anywhere. i have recieved a few "straight" necks from sellers that were not even close. its a crap shoot. even sellers that are in the business of selling guitars play the dumb card and "dont know anything about guitars". just buy from someone who is willing to answer your questions properly. if you want to play surf look into a tiesco shark fin guitar.
