Kay Effector guitar info wanted!

I just picked up a mint condition (still has plastic film on the pickguard!) Kay Effector guitar. It is a sunburst Les Paul style w. bolt neck and all effects work nicely.

I understand that these were sold exclusively in Sears in the '70's. I see that they did not have any name on the headstock so I am assuming they may have been sold through other retailers also. Were any of them sold as Kay's? Did any of them have logos on the headstock?

Does anyone know the history and date of manufacture for these guitars?

Looks like they were sold as/by Univox and were made in Korea. Its a neat "inspried by copy" of a Les Paul recording model, I would guess its mid 70's like 75-77. I do believe some were sold with "Kay" on the headstock. Likely built by Cort in Korea, they made other guitars with the same effects circuit in them.

Built by Cort I believe. they had their own Effector line, with a Explorer thingy, and 6 or 7 buttons. Plywood, and played that way.
