Danelectro convertible reissue?

I stopped off at a pawnshop and I saw one of these in there. Don't know what they're asking, or anything. I think it's the one they put out sometime in the 90's. Any ideas?

You are right, the Convertible appears in the 1999 reissue brochure. I don't know what they are selling for on eBay, but I can tell you the retail price in 1999 was $299.

The only extended experience I've had with these Dano reissues was with an Innuendo my son bought in high school. I think for the price it was a pretty fun guitar. As I recall, my main complaint was that the frets were poorly finished. Some of the models had Gotoh tuners, but I don't know if the Convertible was one of them.

If you search eBay and get a feel for an auction price, let us know what you find out. sb

I've never played one of the convertables. I own a baritone and a U2 reissue from around 2000. They're decent guitars. They sort of flooded the market quick and I saw them going used for $100-200. Then Danelectro stopped making them and the used prices went up. My baritone sold for about $275 new (though I got a deal at $225). Now $275 is about the cheapest I see the baris going for used. I believe the U2s are going in the mid$200s. I suspect the convertables would go in the upper-$200s.
