Old Airline. Can anyone help me?

I have an old Airline that I bought about 12 years ago. I have never seen another one like it. I want to at least find out the model. If someone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. How do I upload a picture from my computer onto a post? I have a few pics of it, but they're too big to use as an avatar.

Hi rangerzep83,

Your guitar appears in the 1967 Wards catalog. It was marketed as the "Big Horn" and is described as having a solid maple body. Sold for about $50 back in the day.

Looks to me it was made by Kay.

DEFINITELY a Kay. If you're right about the year, those pickups are a dead giveaway... by the late 60's, only Kay was using those "capped" DeArmonds... Harmony had since moved on to "mustaches," and Supro/National, by then, had either gone Japanese or had that faux-humbucker thing going on.

I've got a guitar identical to this, save for the body!! (You know the one... big and blocky, like a bloated, swollen Jazzmaster.)

I LOVE THIS. I MUST HAVE IT.... Its so damned hideous, yet like the doomed Kay "Solo King" from the early 60's, I find myself strangely drawn to it...

Well, there's the answer to my question! I came to VintAxe looking for info on this mysterious Airline guitar. My dad bought one (same color) for me thirty years ago on Christmas Eve from a drunk guy selling it for more booze money. He got the Airline amp with it, too, for $20. I saw one of these at a guitar show in Nashville going for $500 in VG condition.

It's got a baseball bat neck and is built to take an A bomb hit. Great rhythm guitar. If you watch the "Dewey Cox Story", the guitarist in Dewey's high school band is playing what appears to be a red Bighorn.

Just happened to stumble back here, after a long while away...

So, can anyone give me a ballpark of what my Airline might be worth, in the condition she's in? I doubt I'll ever sell her, but I would like to know.
