Hi guys,

I have a 1959 Kay "Jose Silva Artist" that someone changed the tuners on years ago. I would like to return it back to its former self. On ebay someone sold an original instrument. I took a screen shot of the tuners. The picture is bad, but I was wondering if anyone out there would know what make and model they are? The picture is at:

Any chance on a more clear image? Hard to tell what you've got there.

Anyhoo...

I'm not entirely familiar with that specific model (maybe if I saw a pic), but I've personally never seen a high-end Kay from that era with sealed-back tuners like that. 99% of the "high-end" Kay's I've played maxed-out with Klusons.

I found out they are called Kluson Sealfast.

Most of the kays i've had was had regular Kluson's 3 on a side, but a few had Grover open backs, Rotomatics, Imperials, waffle backs, or double ring kluson's.
