how to fix loose venyl body cover?

I have a Höfner 173II 1963 here which is in need of a venyl cover repair in the upper horn sections.
How to make it?
does it need warmth to stretch the cover?
any chemical substance to make it softer?

I am interested in repair tipps!!

I've heard that heating the vinyl with a hairdryer can let you stretch it to cover shrinkage around the edges.

I tried it on a Hagstrom I had, but it didn't really work- I think you probably need to carefully peel it back- which I didn't do- and heat maybe 5/6 inches work of the vinyl , which might gain you an extra 1/2 inch or so.
