That's the case with a few importers/distributors - however, some by necessity, I'd assume. For example, UK brand Shaftesbury sold Japanese, Italian & British guitars under that name, and I'm sure many other distributors sourced from several countries too.

I certainly agree with wietse when discussing individual instruments, but when you are trying to classify guitar companies and distributors that have been in business for 50 years it gets much more complicated.

I try to classify companies in a way that is logical to me and I believe will make it easier for visitors to find the information they need. So, Fender is listed under American builders even though they've made plenty of guitars in Japan and Mexico.

I realize you were not being critical, just curious, but it is difficult to develop an organizational scheme that has no flaws.

BTW, If you would like to see your Jedson link moved to the Japanese catagory I'm happy to do it for you. I put it in the European catagory because I thought visitors would look there first. Just let me know your preference. sb
