old Hoyer 1950s?

Hi everyone
My stepdad gave me this guitar that he has had in a case in a cupboard since the 1960s (he got it to learn guitar but never went on with it)

It is a Hoyer but i was just wondering if anyone knows if it has a model name or year?? It doesn't have any visible serial numbers. It has got an adjustable pickup that can slide back and forth.

I just got it cleaned up, serviced and re-stringed and i am really enjoying playing it.

yeah i wasn'y sure if 'Expo' was the model name or not, there is a photo of another Hoyer Expo here;

Maybe the one i have had the pickup etc fitted later?

that is a completely different guitar, yours has a cutaway, inlayed headstock.
but that's normal with old euro's same name, different model maybe yours was named in the catalog as expo c.
hense the cutaway.
the pickups are most likely a later fit, at that time you could order a set of pickups premounted on the scratchplate you could easely mount on your guitar yourself.
without drilling and making holes into the guitar except a few tiny screw holes.
almost every european guitar factory offered those pickup kits.
this single sliding pickpup is very unusual, i guess the output is also mounted under the scratchplate?

yeah its sound really nice, like a deep full tone. except sometimes the whole scratchplate contraption rattles if you play an open bass string.
