Vox Guitar Serial Number Mystery

A while back, someone told me that my UK-made Vox Phantom VI was a 1966 model based on the serial number (65307), but I just read an article stating that Vox stopped manufacturing Phantoms at their UK factory around late '64/early '65 and from that point on, they were all manufactured in Italy. Is there any truth to this or did Vox continue making Phantoms in the UK up until the close of the factrory in 1967? Is my guitar actually a '66 model or an earlier '64/'65 model?

I think it was pretty hit and miss with UK Voxes...

I've got three- a Super ace, a Clubman bass, and a strange variant on a 'shadow' and none of them have even got serial numbers.

Gotta love them- generally pretty badly made, but they have a certain charm, and with a bit of tinkering (specifically- the fretting on all mine is terrible) can be made to play really nice

No - my expertise lies in breaking the back of EKO made VOX guitars - my associate Martin Kelly in the UK is working in the decoder for JMI made guitars!
