Vox Constellation vs. Stinger Bass?

What's the main difference between a Vox Constellation and a Vox Stinger Bass? Is it the built-in effects (distortion, treble/bass booster)?

I have a friend who has money down on a Stinger but he just found a Constellation for $400 more so he's wondering if it would be worth the extra money.

Nah...I'd stick with the Stinger for $100

The electronics are the only difference - this model was a transitory model between the JMI directed/engineered guitars and the Thomas engineered product. Thomas had all the neat little transistor stuff already and they decided they needed a place to put it all.

Thanks for the info. Honestly, I don't he's all that insterested in the FX. Plus the Stinger is here locally in the Boston area and the Constellation is in Chicago.
