Replacement bridge for a teisco/del ray/silvertone

I have decided to get this thing into working condition, and after hunting on ebay for several months I think that a replacement original bridge is worth too much, and would probably be better off in the hands of someone who is restoring a "nice" guitar.

Anyway. Here's the guitar:

Here's the question. Is this the same mount for this type of bridge:

No, the GFS Tune-o-matic bridge will not fit on this.

But do yourself a favor. Upgrade. Search ebay user Bezdez... he has a repro of a Japanese-style fine-tuning bridge, almost identical to that found on a Telestar I just sold. Even has a bridge cover, which I personally think is SLICK.

Yeah,this one here. Already had it book marked as I will be ordering one soon for a project. Very popular for replacing those missing Teisco and other similar bridges.



It's actually a repro Rickenbacker style bridge.

i just put one of those on a guitar last night. it is the only one i found that fits the thin spacing on the neck. which it does fit. its a bit cheap though. the saddles are a little crude. but i played it for a few hours and it seems fine. it looks real nice, especially if there is a lot of chrome on your guitar. for $12 you cant go wrong.

The same seller offers a Kluson closed-back 6-on-a-strip piece with brushings... decent for the price.

Hey sean1978.

While Michael's suggestion will get you a set of more functional tuners at a decent price it is also easy to find original tuners for your instrument. Just search eBay for "Teisco tuners" and I'm sure you'll find an inline set of open backs that match what you already have.

brilliant idea with not mounting it down until you positioned it with the strings on, unfortunatley I did it before I read your post and they are a bit off. I removed the screws and let the strings center it so it's a lot better now.

I'm fixing this total cheap to learn things so it's not a big deal, I do need to fill in the little holes that I drilled. Lucky for me the wrong ones will still be hidden by the saddle on the new one.
