What year is this stratocaster?

Just bought this guitar today for $90. The guy claimed it was a 1982-1986 fender korean made strat. The serial number is vn579397. He refinished the head stock but said it just said fender on it, not squire. Also said it might have aftermarket pick ups. Ill post some pictures, anything anyone can tell me to help identify what it is would help greatly. I want to repaint it but dont want to spend the time if its just a knock off.
