PAN 335 gibson

I think i have a guitar same as Dave Mayes guitar who posted pics in 2008 he didnt show the headstock mine does not say aria it says PAN with the gibson crown inlay the body is same it has the plate on the back like his. if anyone could help on this i would appreciate any reply since there is very little information on the net.

Hi lostnfouninnc.

Your Pan 335 copy was made by Matsumoku around 1971. It is identical to the Aria 5502 other than the name on the headstock. The body is made of maple.

I found a few references on the net that say Pan was a brand name once used by Aria, including this ancient VintAxe post!

That's the one Spud. After clicking the ancient link I was looking over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't in danger of an attack from T Rex
