Hondo II Jazz Bass Copy (80`s) MIK or MIJ???

Hi, im new in this forum. My Name is Juan From Argentina and i have a doubt with this bass... Technically its a Hondo II bass (Jazz Bass Copy) with 2 humbuckers (gibson style), its a little strange bass in this area. i cant find the origins of this beauty. someone can help me?

Your pictures are pretty dark but from what I can tell your bass is a model HJB-2 from about 1977. In the catalog illustration both pickups have covers so I can't compare the pups in your bass to the catalog.

Although some Hondo guitars were built in Japan, I've never heard of any Jazz bass copies built in Japan so I would say MIK.

Vintaxe beat me to it.I was checking the Hondo catalogs. The one in the 1977 catalog appears to be the same guitar. The sunburst finish is listed as HJB-25. Yours is missing the bridge cover,the front pickup cover and the thumb rest.Even though you can't see the pickups in the catalog picture, I think it's probably the same model. I also think,although they look mini humbuckers,the pickups are most likely single coils.
