? 12 STRING HOFNER SHAPED ELECTRIC ?

I've had this strange guitar for a while and have had no success figuring out any details. just wondering if anyone here might have some clues or ideas.

It has a gold crown shaped logo. It's Japanese. The backplate in the picture says : Steel Reinforced Neck Made in Japan

the guitar can be marketed under the crown name but i gues that it's kawai made, the pickups look like those used by kawai a lot, so do the knobs and the neckplate was also a common thing on a lot of kawais.

never seen one like this before, love it!

Hey, all.

I used to own a variation of this Twelve..

Same body, neck & headstock, but mine had a "closed" body (i.e no F-holes), and the volume, tone & slider switches were mounted on a rectangular plate, a la Hofner-style.

Mine was a "no-name" ( can't remember if there were pin-holes on the headstock..don't think there was ), but I recall seeing one other with a "Commodore" nameplate...don't know if that means anything to anyone ?

One thing I DO remember about mine is that it was incredibly neck-heavy!...the combination of the hollow body & that huge headstock ( & all those tuners ) meant that if you were standing up & took your left hand off the neck, you'd find yourself playing "air-guitar" !!
