Combat Guitars

Anybody know anything about Combat Guitars. They are a little pricey but my Japanese musician friends tell me a very good quality guitar. I saw one on yahoo auction and thought about purchasing but can't decide between the Moon Guitar or the Combat. Combat a little better price but Moon has an even loftier reputation here than Combat. Van Zant seems to be the top dog among Japanese guitar players Japanese made products but for some reason Gibson is still the King. I don't get it as my impression is Gibson quality ain't what it used to be nor has been in quite awhile.
