I have a les paul style guitar that I am trying to identify. the name on the hedstock has been removed, but from thte design it seems to match the asco design I cant find out anything about Asco guitars. It has a serial number of 7, so it must be ann early production model. If anybody knows anything about Asco I would really appreciate it.

wo found an ancient post on hc from me, i've done research before i think :D.

cheapo japanese guitars the asco name was used for the german market.
the lp model i found on the net screams hondo to me, trusrodcover, tuners even the binding around the headstock are very hondo like.
the acoustic asco guitars were made in spain only god knows at which factory.

this is what i found, if then there are similarity's with hondo the chance is there that the pickups in your asco are fake humbuckers, hondo only used dimarzio's in giutars with non covered humbuckers.
al humbucker guitars made by hondo with chrome covers had fake humbuckers, only one coil under the cover.

but the germanized carving i've never seen on a hondo, always difficult to dermine the manufacturor of oem brand guitars.
