Which brand is it?

Hi all. I have a Japanese Strat and it has a funnyy logo on a headstock. There's nothing else apart from "Made in Japan" on the other side. Does anyone know what brand is it and any other info? Many thanks.

The brand is ASOA probably made in the early 1970's.

It has been suggested that the guitars were made by FujiGen Gakki.

Sorry to be a pedant but I'd say mid to late 70s.

On the whole, early 70s copies (with the exception of replica-level stuff like Tokai) weren't too accurate & wouldn't have copied the bullet truss adjuster seen here. Early Fujigen copies, for example, usually have a small white plastic truss rod cover & a Gibson-type nut. You'd also expect to find a 3-piece neck on an early 70s Fujigen.

There's nowhere near enough to tell from the pic, but if this is a Fujigen it will be '76-'77 or perhaps later.

I chose speed over accuracy on this one and assumed the dealers selling the guitar actually had some insight into it's origins; never a safe bet.

I think your assessment makes more sense.
