Can anyone tell me anything about my new guitar purchase?

I bought this pretty cheap at a pawnshop in a small town here in BC, thinking it was a collectible 1960's Japanese 'copy' of a Fender. I've been told it's not a real 'copy' so I guess it's not very sought after, but if you recognize it or know anything about it, can you please post here or email me directly?
It's got a 'Made in Japan' tag screwed into the back of the head but nothing else to identify it. Would anything be written on the inside under the hardware or electronics???

Hi VH, I think I can tell you a couple of things about your guitar. First of all, it is a Guyatone. The main clue is the mix of block and dot neck inlays, I think Guyatone was the only company to do that. It was likely built sometime between 1963-65; I've seen the pickups on a 1963 but the body shape is like a 1965. It's an LG series guitar, but I'm not sure of the actual model number.
