Help me identyfing a Rickenbacker 4003 clone

a friend came uo today with a rickenbacker 4003 clone:

same bidy and neck shape and same features (headstock, knobs pickguards...)
red sunburst
bolt on neck
no name on headstock
has both mono and stereo ouputs
serial number on neck plate read something like "EB6002"

I think it's surely a japanese copy (that's why i posted it here). any clue about the brand? which brand used to have "EB" letters on their serials?
