I have a Made in Japan Gold Top Les Paul Copy That i bought in 1972
from a music store in east los angeles ca on Brooklin ave & Soto st
If i remember correctly the name of the store was Philips Music Co
I'd like to find out more info on the origins of this electric guitar
The clues i have about it is Made in Japan stamped or engrave on the metal plate bolt on neck part, nothing on the head stock open book style
The bridge shows H T F Bridge and the the togle swicth for low or treble
or rythem shows 1 9 -1 and an engraved outline of the togle swicth over
the letter i cant make out but it looks like Sih do
P A T.
Q. Did the Japanese makers copy the dementions and length and body style to the U S A made LP's, would it be safe to say that my lp copy is that of a USA made one or close to it ? Thank You
Sid

Hi Sid.

Les Paul copies are hard to identify since virtually every Japanese builder made one. I think you will need to add pictures to your post for anyone to have a chance at an ID.
