Hi drtfrmr.

The shape of the third guitar is generally known as a star.

Here is a short, not very complete discussion of the shape:



They were a part of the pointy guitar craze in the 80's. In addition to the companies listed in the wikipedia link, I know Tokai and Hondo also made star shaped bodies.

Thanks so much VintAxe. I know the history of Arbor and know that this was a very limited production run. I see you have yours listed for $299. Is that about what mine is worth in the same condition or because of its rareity is it worth more? I would never sell it, I was just curious. I paid $250 for the guitar, a Peavy TKO 65 bass amp, and three boss pedals (distortion, heavy metal and chorus) over 25 years ago. Again thanks for the info.

That price is probably in the neighborhood drtfrmr. I did a quick check of the Blue Book and Arbor is not getting much love. The most expensive model listed is a Les Paul copy for $215 in mint condition. Of course the star shaped model isn't listed and would likely be worth more to the right buyer. The LP just has broader appeal.
