I'm guessing this was made in the 70's by matsumoku.
One thing is for sure, I have NEVER heard of EMPRO guitars. But its beautiful!!

In the back of the headstock there is a serial of 774-477 that is oddly sketched into the back of the headstock. Also note that someone put gold tuners that say "gibson" on the back of them.

Maple neck with black block inlays, Diamond on the open book headstock pre-lawsuit axe.

Ok here are my questions.

The guitar has a black binding but the neck has a white binding with black block inlays. Have you ever seen a guitar before with 2 different color bindings? Kinda makes me wonder if this is not the original neck. However, the wood looks to be the right age and it seems to match.

What gets me is the neck pocket is off and the neck seems to lay slightly higher over the edges that what I'm used to but the action is decent.

Oddball guitar. Any help with this WOULD BE AWESOME!

Thanks!

Enjoy the pics :)
