BROADWAY telecaster?

seller says it's 1980's made in japan, without any factual information that might confirm this.

he might be right but i'm suspecting much newer and possibly chinese.

i haven't seen it in person and await better bigger pics.

any ideas folks?

says he'll get me more pics at the end of the week but that i should look at another site which i'd never heard of but he's got it advertised there as well with better( bigger!) pics.

and the price is down €50 on the first ad..........

i still couldn't really read what's printed under BROADWAY on the head, but from his ad text it seems to be " produced by SGC NANYO"

i'm finding plenty about nanyo basses ( some were very good it seems) but no mention of any teles yet.

Hey opotable.

I do not know anything about this brand but it looks like the body is made from at least 4 different pieces of wood. This "butcher block" approach to making a body bothers me and would be a deal buster. The beauty of vintage guitars is that we still had the trees to make one and two piece bodies. I'm no expert on how wood and glue and wood and glue influences tone, but aesthetically I don't like it.

what bothers me more is that the seller's latest reply tells me to go search for the basses and how good they are and he suggests i come and try it and that i won't be disappointed for the price...........

i'm more and more convinced that his claims are total fantasy and this is 21st century chinese badge bootleggery which might be a deal for a fifth of the price, even just to hang on the wall.

anyway, what might be of more interest to vintaxe readers is this real vintage BROADWAY guitar site which didn't work for me last night but does now.

i've emailed him to ask if he ever came across the name on more recent instruments.

well there's still no evidence to suggest that this guitar is what it claims to be and i have several offers of other unidentified tele copies in a similar price range.

i think the only solution is to offer about a 3rd or a quarter of the asking price. maximum.
