Super Astrotone

Does anyone know which company produced the "Super Astrotone" guitars?

Were they sold in a major dept store back in the 60s?

It seems to be a mystery who produced these guitars but here is a good article on them that claims many/most were sold on the west coast. Lots of good pics and info here...

I'm not sure what you have without a picture, but if your guitar is anything like the Super Astrotone on Jedistar's website it doesn't appear to be made by any of the major Japanese exporters of the 1960's.



There were literally hundreds of small scale Japanese builders during the 60's and many of them will probably never be positively identified.
