Hi folks,I'm new to the forum but by no means new to guitar.I have a smallish collection- when compared to many others-of 32 guitars of various vintages.About 40 years ago I had a beautifully well made Pan copy of a Ventures Mosrite that even had the vibrato mechanism copied in great detail.Sadly I traded it in on a circa CAR Hagstrom II,hoping to pick up another in the future. I have yet to see another PAN Mosrite copy,or any other brand with a Mosrite copy of such detail.Have any forum members seen one of even better know where I may be able to pick one up?

I have never seen a PAN guitar in person but we have 2 versions of what appear to be the same/similar PAN catalog in our subscription area that show a mosrite copy model, the PS-02. The catalog says "PAN guitars by Aria".

Hi Phizix,I subscribed to the catalogues and my Pan Mosrite copy differed quite a bit from those illustrated and looked more like some of the other MIJ Mosrite copies. My Pan had a toggle switch for pickup selection and a vibrato mechanism that was more like the actual Mosrite hardware and actually performed quite well and held its tuning quite well also. The sunburst finish was also more true to the actual Mosrite finish and the overall hardware combined with the excellent fit and finish was top shelf gear. I don't know if Pan had different grades of copies back then but the Pan I had was really a top notch copy that more resembled the MIJ guitars of the late 70s even though this was 1972 and the guitar was most likely a '70 or '71.It's downright tragic that I never took as much as one pic of the guitar, she was a real beauty for a MIJ guitar of that era.
