been seeng this advertised for years ,it seems interesting but not at the store price.

and there's not a lot on this model to be found googling so has anyone got any tales to tell about it and the pickups?

Hi opotable.

There is a single pickup version of this Teisco model pictured in Bizarre Guitars of the 60s. They called the single pup version a PE-8 and dated it to 1961. Definitely unusual pickups from early Teisco production. At close to $1,600 USD the seller will need to find a dedicated Teisco collector that really, really wants this model. That search could very well take many more years.

I ran across an earlier version of your guitar being sold by Frank Meyers of Drowning in Guitars. He has a much more reasonable asking price of $800 USD on his instrument.



If you don't already own a copy of Frank's book you should probably pick one up. He's done some great research into 60's Japanese guitars.
