Heit Deluxe (Teisco) wiring help

I've just picked up a non-working Heit Deluxe (one the names Teisco used) and I'm going to replace the pots, cap & jack. It's got one "toaster" pickup and two 500k pots (I can't tell if they're original). I've herad that 500ks are generally used with humbuckers and 250ks with single coils. I've found a little info on the Teisco gold foil pickups and apparenetly they were wired with a 100k and a 500k which seems even weirder. Does anybody know what the values of the stock pots were on Teiscos?

I have a late 60's Kawai built cheepy guitar that I picked up a few weekends ago for parts (the neck is shot). I just opened it up to see what pot values it uses.

The volume pot reads B- 50k Ohm. I'm no expert on these matters, but I believe the B designation means it is a linear 50K pot. Unfortunately, there is a big blob of solder on the back of the tone pot so I can't read the value. Physically, it looks identical to the volume pot so my guess is they are the same.

You can use any value of pot you want in a guitar, it just changes the sound depending on what you put in there. You can also just wire the p/u's directly to the output if you don't want to make any change to the sound (volume, etc) So, if you put a 250K pot in a guitar with humbuckers, it'll sound "darker" than one with 500K's in it, etc. You can also alter the sound by changing the capacitors, depending on what you want to do. Then, there's "linear" pots and "audio taper" ones, and "no-load", etc etc etc. They make many many values of pots, you could spend days (and $$$) changing stuff around until you find a setup you like.
