Ultra Cool Guitar - What Is it?

I love this one.It was sold on eBay about a month ago. No brand name on it,only "Made in Japan" on the neckplate. Note the really nice flaming on the neck. Anyone know what this might be?

I don't know who made this guitar but if I was only given one guess I would say Aria. The hardware, finish and trussrod cover say Aria to me.

I think the style is derived from a mid 1960's Guyatone. Here is a Guyatone example from 1966:

I recently bought the exact same guitar on ebay except it's a Bass. It has glue residue on the headstock where the Logo once was but frustratingly the logo is long Gone !

Now that I've seen the pups on your Bass, I'm more convinced these instruments are made by Aria.

Now I'm wondering if the pups on the guitar have been changed.

Wow,I forgot I had posted this and haven't checked back for awhile. Thanks for all the followup posts.That bass is great.Nice score.Of course,the logo would also have to be missing! Oh well.
