Silvertone 1451 Amplifier

Do you like my new(old) amp. It's 1959 Silvertone 1451. Three thunderous watts of tube power through a 6" Rola speaker. Cabinet is thick cardboard wrapped in leather grain paper with gold spangles. Baffle board and back panel are masonite.

As a matter of fact I do like your amp; probably has the wattage of one of those Cigarette Box amps eh?

Something to play when the rest of the world has gone to sleep. How far do you need to push it to get overdrive?

Nice score. That 's one of the Danelectro made Silvertone amp models.

A friend has a similar small Danelectro-made Silvertone amp. It makes a great recording amp.

very nice indeed, i did not see any tone control, care to discribe it to us as best as possible, im guessing nice warm tube sound with quite a bit of a trebel punch?

The recent post to this thread brought it back to the top of the pile and I'm re-reading it. Since I posted about this last time I've actually acquired my friend's old Silvertone (model 1333) from '55 or so. It's bigger (1x12" speaker) and more powerful (12-ish watts) than I had recalled. After a speaker change and replacement of some bad old parts, it's loud enough to gig with (mic'ed).
