Can anyone help me date this Hagstrom?

Hi would anyone be able to help me date this Hagstrom guitar? I bought it at a garage sale. It needs work but I just liked the look and feel of it. S/N # is 712661. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to know if it's worth restoring.

That site has no info about deciphering the serial numbers to ascertain the date. In order to do that,you have to buy the serial number book that it provides a link for.If you go to this forum in the link below and post the serial number under the "Hagstrom - Cult Swedish Guitars - A UK based Appreciation!" category, a member will tell you exactly what year it was made. I own a transparent cherry 1967 Viking with the Hagstrom logo Bigsby vibrato.It's a great guitar.

I found a website that says that Hagstrom Viking I guitars with characteristics like yours are dated between 1965- 1972.

I have a copy of the Hagstrom serial number book Jack, just not exactly sure where it is at the moment. If you haven't dated your guitar yet just post back and I'll find the book and look it up for you.
