Kimberly Twin (Teisco EJ-2) original wiring, pot, and cap ?s

I am a complete newb to guitars and have just picked up my first guitar.

It is a Kimberly Twin (Teisco EJ-2). I got it from a local thrift shop and have been working on getting it working properly.

So far I have fixed the output plug and redone some of the wiring. At some time in the past, somebody redid the wiring, probably when replacing the pots and did it all wrong.

Stuff wasn't grounded properly and the tone control was hooked up all wrong and didn't do anything at all.

The volume controls were wired backwards as well.

I used a generic wiring diagram off of

to get it working.

Does anybody have any pics or have a diagram of the original wiring on one of these?

Currently all 3 pots are identical 500k pots and the cap for the tone control is labeled .001.

I would very much like to know if the pots and the cap are the correct values for this guitar, especially since the tone control doesn't do a whole lot - it is barely noticeable.

The pic on that page showed a 50k resistor going across each pickup switch. Anybody have any idea what that kind of setup would do?

The switches on mine are currently wired as hard on/off switches.
