Actually, the 1952 debut model,due to playability issues because of design flaws as describe in the link below, is worth less to collectors then subsequent model years.


The collector value really takes a huge leap starting with the 1955 edition, which saw the Les Paul finally evolve into it's classic,much improved configuration.
