			something else from my cupboard that i don't need. any suggestions as to what it might be?

there seems to be 2 screw holes under the 2nd and 3rd machine heads where maybe a nameplate was.

"Curiouser and curiouser! Found this picture/article that tells me MY version of this Epiphone ET-280 is the 1970's version that was marketed (at least in England) as an EROS and had a Fender style headstock. That explains my confusion about the neck and headstock. It has NOT been changed...that's the way it was sold under the EROS name in '70. I bet if I find a picture of an Eros headstock there'd be a nameplate that would fit nicely over the two screw holes in my headstock!"
