Here we go again! I went into a nearby thrift store and scored this gem. I'm still trying to learn more about it, but as it is, it is REALLY well made.
Take a look at the date code pic. Is this, or could it be a 1947 guitar???

Hey phildog.
Mansfield is an OEM brand distributed by Peate's Music located on Mansfield street in Montreal Canada. The brand is still sold today. They were first imported in the 1970's so your guitar isn't a 1940's model. In the 70's Mansfields were built by the same company that built Ibanez acoustics and have a good reputation among collectors.
