Hello Folks !
The reason why I start this thread is that I have massive problems with collecting information about one of my acoustic guitars and I hope that you guys can help me.
It is a K. Yairi YW650 which I bought a few days ago for 350€. According to the decal it was made in 1979. To me as a layman the top looks like spruce and the back and sides like walnut or jacaranda. It has a nice rich warm full tone and in my opinion some really nice pearl inlay around both sides of the body and in the fingerboard.
There is one strange thing though. This guitar had its neck broken which can be clearly seen. The difference in the colour of the headstock piece and the rest of the neck is strange. It almosts looks like the headstock was on a different guitar once. You can't see anything of that damage if you take a look at the front at that position. One of the preowners also glued some Piece of Wood on top of the headstock to prevent the spiky top from damage .... at least thats what it looks like.
Now ... when I take a look at several K.Yairi catalogs I can not find this model. The only model I can find that looks a bit like my YW650 is the YW800G and several Versions of a YW600
I've uploaded a few pictures on my webspace.
