1968 Danelectro Coral Electric Sitar

Since I'm not a guitar collector and I don't like storing stuff, I'm considering selling this guitar. However, I'm also wondering if this instruments valuation has fully matured, or if it will greatly increase in value in the future? I believe the current value is around $3,200. What do you folks think, it this a good time to part with it or would you recommend holding on to it? Also, realistically, what do you think I can get for it considering the blue book is $3200?

Wow! $3200 that's a lot money!

I have a 1957 Danelectro U-1, all original and in great playing condition, original case too (but a little torn) I wonder how much does it worth? My last checking on line was around $700-800? But most of the vintage Dano models I saw on line were with Silvertone name, very few were the real Danelectro. For the same model in same condition, does vintage Denelectro worth more than vintage Silvertone?

The Custom color U1's are valued around $1,000 - $1,200.

Unfortunately, it looks like you have a standard color. It is still valued between $600 - $900 depending on condition. The case is certainly a plus.

I don't think there is much price difference between the Silvertone and Danelectro badge. I bought a really nice Silvertone U1 a couple of years ago for $600. Given your research and the price guide it looks like a maximum of $100 difference. I would have preferred a Danelectro but the Silvertone sounds the same. sb

From what I see in the picture I think you are right on. Like I said, I bought mine a few years ago so I thinK your price is very fair.
