I just had to post this... I love finding all these oddball "crossovers"...

One of my favorite guitars ever is my Kent "American" hollowbody... outright junk pickups and electronics, but if you swap them out you're pretty miuch good to go...

I'm always searching for another Kent... Love 'em... so, I'm always coming across the Kent's Guyatone counterparts...

But never before have I seen this one as a crossover... until just now, located right here in Jersey!

As you know Michael, there is a ton of "crossover" in Japanese export instruments of this era. From what I understand, many of the big producers bought their hardware from the same suppliers.

What elements of this guy do you associate with Guyatone, and what parts suggest Kent? sb

Honestly, everything is identical save for the headstock... everything right down to the pickups, metal control plate, even the finish is the same as yo'd find in the old Kent catalogs!...

The ONLY difference is the headstock. Kent used a Fender-style six-in-line setup.

Wasn't Kent just a US brand name for Guyatone around 65-6? the Velvet Underground used a Kent branded Guyatone at that time - the big square-ish italic capital G on the headstock was replaced with a K in the same syle.
