Here is a real find. I originally thought that this guitar was a Barney Kessel copy, but was confused with the headstock. After a little more research I found that it was a Gibson Trini Lopez Deluxe copy, not a Kessel. This guitar is a keeper for life, because of the story behind the find. The gentleman who was selling it was selling it for his mother. The guitar had belonged to his father who had recently passed away. His dad bought the guitar to play in his church's Worship band. Actually the whole family played. Mom sang, dad played this guitar, and the son who I bought the guitar from, played bass. People he knew kept telling him that he should keep the guitar for sentimental reasons. His reply was.."I know I'll see my dad in heaven again, I don't need the guitar for that." In the several conversations that he and I had prior to coming over to look at the guitar, he found out that my son also playes in his youth groups worship band and was going on a missions trip for his spring break. He said that it made his mom very happy to know that the guitar would continue to praise the Lord, which was the original reason her husband had bought it. I left his house feeling truly blessed by the purchase. These instruments, and the music and memories they create will never cease to amaze me! Hope you enjoy the story as much as I do!
