Looking for old Washington DC TV shows on Youtube I stumbled across this strange clip featuring The Hello People on "Teen Time." I feel a bit embarrassed for these folks but it's still kind of fun. For some reason I think the guitarist on the right is playing a 12-tring Kent:

OMG Scott, that is hideous!
I can't remember when I've seen a less inspired audience or a more contrived band in my life. They must have spent the entire budget for the show on face makeup. It may just be bad audio but I think the host may have a lisp as well. WoW.
As far as guitars, you are right about the Kent. I'm guessing about a 1968 Model 821. I can't tell for sure what the guy in the back is playing but I'm guessing the bass player has trumped them all with his Hofner 500/2 Club bass. Leave it to the bass player to make the largest financial commitment to the band
