What is this guitar?

I bought this guitar in Montreal, and the was nothing but the neck (frets pulled out) and body (But I bought it for 15 canadian dollars!)
It's all mahogany and rosewood, so it's a guitar built with good materials, and well built, with a nicely carved heel and well installed binding.. I refretted it, plugged the holes and installed a bridge/tailpiece from a LPJ copy, and a couple of guitar from Eastwood (the same pickups as on the Airline Tuxedo, and by the way, they're killers, and cheap, too! ), sanded the half-scraped lacquer, and refinished it black to keep the Tuxedo styling.
Nobody has ever been able to tell me which company built it, where it's been built. So, any info would really be valuable! thanks

There isn't much to go on after your (excellent) reconditioning, but it could have been a Guyatone once, from Japan, if it has a set neck and no truss rod...



sorry for image quality but this is from a circa '59 Guyatone - it has a similar Fender-ish headstock shape but a different body, although most of the earlier G-tones have the Supro-ish cut off lower bout thing going on that yours has - here's an image I swiped from another thread on the forum - do a search on Guyatone here and see what you find.

grandstef, your guitar was originally a late 1950's Guyatone LG-35. As simonm said, it was made in Japan and originally looked something like this:
