Once I was about to buy an National electric solidbody guitar. Never seen one like it since. I was shaped lika an Fender jaguar with National i large letters on the large non-Fender looking head. Mid 60s I guess...
Any ideas what it was for model?

Hi Thomas and welcome to the forum 
. Those Jaguar shaped Nationals appeared in the late 60's. There was a one, two and three pickup version as well as a 12 string. The 3 pickup was the N644, the 2 pickup was N634 and the 1 pickup model was the N624. The guitars are pictured and described in the 1968 National catalog I have uploaded in the Electric Guitar Catalog section if you need more information. sb
