Vintage 1954 Harmony S hole electric

I am trying to authenticate a guitar I am interested in buying. I have poured over the internet for hours trying to find this model. The seller claims it to be a 1954 Harmony. He said the tuners are the only non original piece to this guitar. I am posting pictures. Can anyone help me out with the authentication of it. Also he is asking $250 any thoughts on if this is a good price. He says the body is clean no cracks or crazing. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, it's a Harmony. I'm pretty sure it's this model, the H74 Neo- Cutaway. According to this,they were made from 1961 - 1967, not 1950s.



Take note that in the pictures there were variations in the pickup covers, so while the ones on his guitar aren't pictured, that's no problem. Everything else is the same so it's the same model. If all the electronics work ok and the it plays well,$250 is a pretty decent price. By the way,cutouts are refered to as F holes.

LOL. That was a pretty easy one,knowing it was definitely a Harmony. You can identify unknown models real fast on the Harmony Database site if you first click on "Show Families" on the home page. Then just pick the category it fits into, in this case "Thinline" in the Electrics. It shows pictures of all models, which is a lot faster way to find things then going through that huge model numbers only menu on the home page.

Yes those are Teisco pups. Of the "Gold Foil" pups you hear of these are good ones IMO (probably from early 60's). These have Alnico magnets as opposed to Gold Foils w/ pole pieces in center that have magnetized rubber magnets.
