Jazzmaster/Mustang/Jaguar Copy, unknown name/date/origin

I recently acquired a jazzmaster copy from a friend of mine who didn't want it because it's in pretty sorry shape. I'm planning to fix it up and use it as a gigging guitar, just something I don't really have to worry about. I'm very curious, though, about the origins of the guitar. After quite a bit of searching, my dad found that it may be a Teisco/Kawai, but I'm still interested in seeing if anyone has anything to add. Thanks very much!

Yeah, I think it is a Kawai. The pickups date it to 1968.

you might be surprised at how interesting those pickups sound. also you might want to wax pot them if your planning on gigging with it, or you will get a lot of feedback.
