1965 Mustang, '98 LPSpecial

I'm just learnin how to use photobucket. So let's see if I can post two pix here. My 1965 Mustang was refinished when I got it. I added the new pickup covers before I knew I could get em in ivory, otherwise it's all original.

The Les Paul Special is 1998. A woodworkin friend helped me cut the tort for the truss rod cover and pickguard.

Is the metal bridge across the strings original Fender on the Mustang? I ask because I have a 1968 reissue Mustang in red and it doesnt have that piece.

If you don't like the white pickup covers you can take them off, rough them up a little with sandpaper, and soak them in coffee for a few hours. That will give them a more aged "parchment" color.

I tried coffee on a white pickguard and the only place it worked was where the guitar pick had scratched up the surface. That's when I figured out I needed to use the sandpaper. :)
