Ibanez 2350 "Black Beauty"

I got this last week. It's an Ibanez model 2350.I'm not sure when it was made but somewhere between 1973 and 1975.
It's all original. Bolt on neck but it plays great with super low action and the Super 70s pickups sound awesome!

Great score Riot. I like the Custom style binding with the black finish. Good to hear it's a nice player as well. These FujiGen Gakki built Ibanez models have a great reputation. Is the body solid or laminate?

Thanks! I'm not sure if it is a laminate or solid top. I'll have to pull the pickups to find out next time it needs a string change. Right now it has just had a fresh setup and it plays so well I don't want to mess with it.

Hey Riot.

I wouldn't ask you to go into the pup cavities. You can check behind the control cavity cover on the back to see the body wood. Six screws and your in; you can also squirt the pots with a little DeOxit while you're in there

I'm just trying to determine if/when FujiGen used solid wood bodies on their LP copies.

Riot, to my knowledge there is no pot code reference guide for Japanese made pots. If someone knows different, please guide us to the reference.

So, Japanese pot codes don't help when dating Japanese instruments.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the body wood looks to be a laminate. Is that what you saw when you had the control cavity open?

Good info Riot, I didn't know the ink verses stamped distinction was useful for rough dating.
